Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Teradata Platform Administrator with 8+ years of Teradata administration experience to support the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Teradata platform administration, performance optimization, upgrades, security, disaster recovery, and operational support across Production, Development/DR, and Test environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of Teradata Database Administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with Teradata upgrades, provisioning, software maintenance, and vendor patch management.
- Strong knowledge of Teradata Viewpoint, Teradata Tools & Utilities (TTU), PSIM, workload management, node management, backup & recovery, and ecosystem health monitoring.
- Experience with performance tuning, resource optimization, and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in BASH, Perl, Python, and Glink scripting.
- Strong Unix/Linux administration skills.
- Knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals, networking, and Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with statistics collection and database optimization.
- Understanding of security, audits, and compliance standards including NIST 800-53, IRS Publication 1075, SSA, and Medicaid.
- Excellent troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse platforms.
- Perform upgrades, software maintenance, patching, and capacity planning.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and resource utilization.
- Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and security configurations.
- Support Teradata Viewpoint, TTU, PSIM, and workload management.
- Optimize database performance and resolve complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with DBAs, business teams, and vendors to ensure platform stability and availability.
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal security standards and best practices.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting large-scale Enterprise Data Warehouse environments.
- Public Sector or State Government experience is highly preferred.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure-based infrastructure is a plus.
