Junior Security Compliance Specialist
We are seeking a Junior Security Compliance Specialist to join a growing cybersecurity organization in Annapolis, MD. This is a full-time, onsite position for an early-career security professional who wants to do both cybersecurity compliance and hands-on penetration testing. The role will be approximately 60% security auditing/compliance and 40% penetration testing.

The organization helps businesses identify security weaknesses and demonstrate compliance with major security standards including SOC 2, PCI DSS, and FedRAMP. This is a opportunity for someone with a technical academic background who wants to build a career in GRC and security assessments while maintaining hands-on technical exposure.
Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a similar technical discipline
• Strong foundational understanding of computer systems, networking, and cybersecurity
• Interest in cybersecurity governance, risk, compliance, and security auditing
• Interest in penetration testing and identifying technical vulnerabilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Annapolis, MD

Desired Skills & Experience

• Academic, internship, lab, or professional exposure to penetration testing or vulnerability assessment
• Familiarity with security frameworks or compliance standards such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, or FedRAMP
• Exposure to security auditing, risk assessments, or GRC
• Cybersecurity certifications or relevant technical coursework

What You Will Be Doing

• Assist with cybersecurity audits and compliance assessments
• Evaluate systems against applicable security and compliance requirements
• Help identify security and compliance gaps and document findings
• Participate in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment activities
• Work with technical teams to understand security controls and system configurations
• Support security documentation and assessment reporting
• Develop hands-on experience across both technical security testing and cybersecurity compliance

Compensation
$65,000-$70,000 base salary, with potential flexibility depending on experience.
Work Arrangement
Onsite 5 days per week in Annapolis, Maryland.
