Job Description

Domestic Gas Service &amp; Breakdown Engineer – Colchester Location: Colchester<br />Salary: £40,000–£46,000 per annum + 1 in 4 Call Out<br />(Up to £46,000 for engineers with OFTEC/Oil qualifications)<br />Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Domestic Gas Service &amp; Breakdown Engineer to cover the Colchester area. This role involves carrying out servicing, fault finding, and repairs within private residential properties. You will typically complete 6–8 jobs per day, delivering a high standard of workmanship and exceptional customer service. You will also liaise with major insurance providers when required. Key Responsibilities

  • Service, diagnose faults, and repair domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
  • Carry out repairs safely and efficiently in private residential properties.
  • Complete 6–8 jobs per day while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
  • Complete all job reports and documentation accurately.
  • Ensure all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, office staff, and insurance providers where required. Requirements
  • Valid domestic gas

qualifications:

CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, and CKR1 (essential).

  • OFTEC/Oil qualifications are advantageous and attract the higher salary band.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in domestic gas service and breakdown work.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Clean DBS.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload. Benefits
