About the role

The Network Engineer is responsible for implementing and optimising NHVR's network solutions, performing advanced troubleshooting to resolve escalated issues, and driving short-term improvement initiatives to enhance network reliability, scalability, and security compliance. The role collaborates across internal teams and external partners/vendors to deploy network upgrades, manage configurations, and ensure the integrity of NHVR's network resources across sites and hybrid environments.

This position will also require interstate travel and after-hours availability to support critical network systems and provide technical expertise during incident recovery or project deployments.

Key responsibilities
  • Implement and optimise NHVR's network solutions, including upgrades, security configurations, and policy rollouts for scalability and security adherence.
  • Manage advanced network troubleshooting and resolve escalated issues promptly to ensure minimal disruption to operations and business continuity.
  • Monitor and analyse network performance, conducting regular assessments to identify bottlenecks, mitigate risks, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with NHVR's network security standards through the deployment of firewalls, VPNs, network access control (NAC), secure device configurations, and access policies aligned with organisational controls.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation, including topology diagrams, inventory records, and system logs to support operational visibility and knowledge-sharing across teams.
  • Assess telemetry and observability tools for network monitoring, ensuring real time performance insights to address emerging risks or vulnerabilities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Industry certifications such as Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP), Aruba Certified Design Professional (ACDP), FortiNet NSE4 and/or NSE5, or equivalent certifications in network technologies.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and seamless integration of network infrastructure within Azure/AWS platforms.
  • Experience with network management or orchestration tooling such as Aruba Central or FortiManager (one is mandatory).
