Job Title: Senior Data Scientist – AIOps & IT Performance Analytics
Location: Remote Position
Duration: 12 Months+

Description:
Seeking a Data Scientist with expertise in AI technologies, cloud environments, and enterprise systems monitoring to support our federal client's modernization efforts. In this critical role, the candidate will contribute to the IT Performance Achievement - Service Management Office, providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) services across service level management, performance analytics, problem resolution, and data-driven continuous service improvement.
The ideal candidate must have strong analytical capabilities, hands-on experience with AI and cloud platforms, intermediate to advanced proficiency in Splunk, and a solid understanding of network technologies and their impact on API performance and latency — enabling them to proactively identify issues and propose actionable solutions across a large, complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and model Incident, Problem, and Change trends to identify opportunities for service improvements.
Perform and interpret data studies and experiments involving new data sources or new uses for existing data sources.
Leverage Splunk dashboards, alerts, and search queries to detect, investigate, and resolve operational issues in real time.
Utilize cloud-native monitoring and observability tools (AWS CloudWatch, Google Cloud Operations, Azure Monitor) to identify and address performance gaps.
Develop analytics using data mining, statistical, forecasting, and modeling techniques.
Develop prototypes, proof of concepts, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analyses.
Determine new ways to improve data quality, search quality, and predictive capabilities.
Identify the right tools for data analysis, including tools external to the organization.
Leverage AI and machine learning to improve automation through data output, aggregation, analytics, algorithms, orchestration, and visualization.
Provide guidance and technical support to executives, contractors, and employees in other functional areas.
Enterprise Issue Identification & Solution Design
Proactively identify performance degradation, anomalies, and systemic issues across large enterprise systems using data-driven analysis.
Analyze API call patterns, response times, and latency trends to diagnose integration and performance issues across enterprise platforms.
Propose and document actionable solutions and remediation strategies for identified issues, working collaboratively with application, infrastructure, and network teams.

Mandatory Qualifications:
A minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years’ relevant experience.
A degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field. Note: If the individual’s degree is not in the applicable field, then four additional years of related experience is required.
Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.

Qualifications:
ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
Experience with ServiceNow Performance Analytics module.
Experience supporting federal or large enterprise IT environments.
Familiarity with machine learning platforms and orchestration tools.
Experience with cloud-native monitoring tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Google Cloud Operations Suite, or Azure Monitor.
Experience with network performance analysis tools and APM (Application Performance Monitoring) platforms.
