Quick Overview
Job Description
The Digital Agility Coach is an enterprise-level servant leader and organizational change agent dedicated to driving execution and maturity across Agile Teams and the broader Agile Release Train (ART). Operating through a philosophy of influence over authority, this role actively builds high-performing, self-managing teams by instilling Lean-Agile mindsets, values, and practical success patterns. As a critical bridge across the enterprise, the Coach unblocks delivery pipelines, establishes radical transparency through data-driven information radiators, and champions continuous organizational learning to ensure predictable, value-based forecasting.
Essential Responsibilities
- Agile Team Coaching & Development: Guide teams toward high maturity, self-organization, and collective ownership; support individual development by helping team members acquire "T-shaped" multi-disciplinary skills and a continuous learning mindset.
- Technical Agility & Quality Mastery: Train and coach the team on advanced engineering practices beyond standard Scrum, including SAFe, Kanban, Flow, Built-in Quality, Automated Testing, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
- Framework & Event Facilitation: Facilitate all core Iteration events (Planning, Sync, Review, and Retrospectives) and rigorously coach the Innovation and Planning (IP) Iteration to protect dedicated time for innovation, education, and Inspect & Adapt (I&A) events.
- SAFe Alignment & ART Integration: Represent the team at all ART events; ensure strict synchronization with the train's cadence to optimize dependency management, drive cross-team collaboration, and support rapid, integrated learning cycles for Release on Demand.
- Flow Optimization & Metrics: Establish and manage team Kanban boards to visualize work-in-progress (WIP); track and analyze flow, competency, and target OKR metrics to ruthlessly eliminate bottlenecks and optimize throughput.
- Product Partnership & Transparency: Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to maximize solution value, refine the backlog, define criteria like the Definition of Done (DoD), and maintain real-time visibility for all stakeholders using updated information radiators.
- Enterprise Scaling & Community Leadership: Actively support the broad, enterprise-wide adoption of SAFe by coaching non-agile teams and external stakeholders, partnering with SAFe Practice Consultants (SPCs), and driving active engagement in Communities of Practice (CoPs).
- Conflict Resolution & Servant Leadership: Act as a culture builder by fostering psychological safety, trust, alignment, and collaborative problem-solving; proactively remove systemic impediments while modeling Lean-Agile leadership principles.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated experience operating as a Scrum Master or Team Coach within a large-scale, complex enterprise setting.
- Education: Bachelor s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of professional experience and education.
- Mandatory Certification: Active, verifiable SAFe 6.0 Scrum Master (SSM) certification is strictly required.
- Technical Tooling Expertise: Expert-level, hands-on proficiency with specialized Agile enterprise tools, specifically Jira Software, Jira Align, Confluence, FigJam, and AgilityInsights.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to persuade and align diverse stakeholders.
- Preferred Credentials: Highly desirable advanced certifications include SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM 6.0), SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC 6.0), SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE 6.0), SAFe Agilist (SA 6.0), CSM, ICAgile, and direct SAFe Studio environment experience.
