Technical Writer | Del Mar, CA, United States | Hybrid | $55,300.00 - $126,000.00 This employer is a respected leader in providing advanced technical and management consulting services, known for its commitment to innovation and supporting critical national missions. They are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to contribute to significant defense programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence training strategies for naval personnel and gain exposure to high-level program management. The Role • Develop, revise, and manage highly regulated military training documentation for a specific Navy program. • Translate complex technical specifications into standardized instructional materials and strategic plans. • Ensure program goals are met through clear and effective communication of training materials for naval systems and C4I capabilities. • Update and revise program training materials, including curriculum and supporting documentation according to Navy standards. • Author or edit Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DoN) training documentation. • Distill complex engineering data into clear, concise instructions for various levels of naval personnel. What You'll Need • Experience developing and editing Navy technical manuals for Fleet Systems. • Familiarity with military communications equipment. • Experience with Navy training policy and curriculum development standards (e.g., OPNAVINST 1500.76 series, NAVEDTRA 130 series). • Experience with Navy manpower and training databases (e.g., HARPS or CMATT). • Ability to author or edit DoD and DoN training documentation. • A Secret clearance is required.
