The Role • Operate heavy equipment, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to move shipping containers. • Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks with precision and safety. • Drive hostlers to efficiently position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard. • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality. • Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate daily logistics tasks. • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established protocols and procedures. What You'll Need • A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position. • Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred. • Strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. • Basic communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts (2nd or 3rd shift), with scheduling determined by union seniority.
