Required Combination of Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 6 7 years of relevant professional experience; OR

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 5 years of relevant professional experience.


Required Skills

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong programming and software development skills, particularly in C/C++.

  • Strong capabilities in software design, analysis, and architecture.

  • Ability to communicate technical perspectives clearly and professionally, including expressing differing opinions in a constructive, non-confrontational manner.

  • Hands-on experience with Git, debugging tools, and compilers.

  • Experience developing and executing C Test and Google Test (GTest) suites.

  • Strong understanding of system-level feature design and technical specification.

  • Experience working with communication/data-link technologies such as CAN, Ethernet, and related protocols.

  • Strong technical documentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise writing style.


Desired Skills

  • Experience with GStreamer or similar multimedia frameworks.

  • Experience working with detection sensors and sensor-based systems.

  • Background in robotics, autonomous systems, or machine autonomy.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Position Overview

The Embedded Software Engineer will support an application development group within the Company's Robotics Division. The selected candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of embedded software features for electronic control systems used in safety detection and machine automation applications.

The role requires strong hands-on software engineering capabilities, an understanding of embedded systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with software, systems, machine, and validation engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test safety detection features using embedded C/C++ in a Linux-based environment.

  • Utilize Git/GitHub for source-code management, collaboration, and software development workflows.

  • Perform issue triage, root-cause analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting to resolve software defects and system-level issues.

  • Participate effectively in an Agile/Scrum development environment, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Develop and maintain software validation plans, test strategies, and verification activities.

  • Collaborate with global teams across machine engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, and validation engineering.

  • Contribute to system-level feature design, technical specifications, implementation, integration, and testing.

  • Support software integration and validation across embedded electronic control systems.

  • Communicate technical issues, project status, design decisions, and recommendations clearly and concisely.

  • Work effectively within a globally distributed and culturally diverse engineering organization.
