Role: Ambulatory Manager
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Duration: 3+ months
Scope of Work: Proavide day-to-day operational leadership for the Ambulatory application portfolio, including Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, MyChart, Wisdom, and related applications. Support strategic planning, work prioritization, issue resolution, cross-functional coordination, and implementation oversight while partnering with internal leadership to ensure continuity of operations. In accordance with County policy, this role will not perform personnel or HR-related supervisory responsibilities.
Examples of Duties:
- Provide operational oversight and leadership for the Ambulatory application portfolio.
- Partner with the Ambulatory Supervisor and ACIO to prioritize operational and implementation work.
- Support governance, strategic planning, and decision-making for the Epic Phase II implementation.
- Facilitate coordination across application teams, operational stakeholders, and project leadership.
- Assist in workload prioritization, issue escalation, and resource planning.
- Mentor and provide technical and operational guidance to analysts and project leads.
- Support development of operational processes, application ownership, and team coordination.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience leading Epic Ambulatory application teams in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated experience balancing operational support with large-scale Epic implementation efforts.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in Epic Ambulatory and related applications, including Healthy Planet, MyChart, and Wisdom.
- Experience providing operational leadership for teams supporting Epic clinical applications.
- Demonstrated success leading implementation, optimization, and operational initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with executive leadership, operational leaders, and multidisciplinary teams.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor''s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Nursing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience supporting Epic clinical applications, including progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Required Epic certification(s) in Ambulatory and other related applications are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Epic Ambulatory workflows, application governance, and healthcare operations.
- Ability to establish priorities, facilitate decision-making, and lead complex initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across technical, clinical, and operational teams.
- Experience mentoring staff and fostering collaboration without direct personnel authority.
