Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a Commvault Backup & Recovery Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions. The role focuses on ensuring data protection, platform resilience, and successful migration from legacy or alternate backup platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Commvault backup and recovery solutions
  • Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimise performance
  • Design and execute backup strategies across hybrid environments (on-prem, cloud, SaaS)
  • Lead or support migrations from other backup platforms (e.g. Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Rubrik) to Commvault
  • Perform restore testing, DR drills, and ensure compliance with RTO/RPO objectives
  • Automate backup operations using scripting (PowerShell, REST APIs)
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
Required Experience
  • Strong hands on experience with Commvault (administration, configuration, troubleshooting)
  • Proven experience in backup migration projects (same platform upgrades or cross platform migrations)
  • Experience supporting Windows, Linux, virtualised (VMware/Hyper V), and cloud workloads (Azure/AWS)
  • Solid understanding of storage, networking, and security fundamentals
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with cloud native backup (Azure Backup, AWS Backup)
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL, Oracle) backup/recovery
  • Exposure to automation, DevOps, or Infrastructure as Code
Key Traits
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting capability
  • Attention to detail in recovery scenarios
  • Ability to operate in fast paced, managed services environments
Security Clearance

Current NV1 Security Clearance

Must be willing to work onsite 5 days a week
