Job Description

CW ADAS/ADS Evaluation Engineer

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to define performance requirements for and evaluate current and future ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems). Example activities include preparing systems, vehicles, test equipment, and logistics for evaluation drives as well as completing and analyzing collected data from such drives.

We are looking for people who have experience with simulated and in-vehicle evaluation of ADS/ADAS. We want to find those who demonstrate customer-first thinking, partners with internal and external teams, and the ability to proactively and aggressively deliver quality products to our customers.

What you ll be doing

    • Conduct Software-in-the-Loop (SILs) & Hardware-in-the-Loop testing of latest Toyota Electronics & ADAS systems software release.
    • Configure, modify, and troubleshoot SILs/HILs test benches, test vehicles, sensors, and data acquisition systems.
    1. Support the evaluation and tuning of ADAS / ADS systems with a focus on North American road conditions and challenges.
    2. Support the development and initial implementation of proof-of-concept systems.
    3. Configure, modify, and troubleshoot test vehicles, sensors and data acquisition equipment.
    4. Communicate performance issues through project leaders to suppliers & TMC to support proposals of appropriate countermeasures.
    5. Implement quantitative benchmarking methods for ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) on competitor vehicles using GPS, camera, or other sensors.
    6. Complete data gathering evaluations on public roads and proving grounds.
  • Requirements:

What you bring

    1. Experience installing, troubleshooting, and using data acquisition & testing equipment such CanAlyzer, Vbox, Panel 4, or other data acquisition equipment.
    2. Functional knowledge of high-precision GPS systems, including differential measurements and base station corrections.
    3. Basic proficiency in creating or modifying scripts to automatically analyze test and simulation data using MATLAB, Python, or other similar programming languages.
    4. Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent technical area.
    5. Experience evaluating ADS or ADAS systems.
    6. Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (US domestic).
    7. Willingness to support in-person / on-campus work up to 100% of the time.
    8. A valid US Drivers License.
