Job Title: ServiceNow Developer
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
Location: Remote preference for candidates located in or near St. Louis, Atlanta, Dallas, Philadelphia, Chicago, or Denver

Overview

A Mako client in the construction industry is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to support the continued development, enhancement, administration, and expansion of its ServiceNow platform.

This is a hands-on development role that will combine new ServiceNow development with ongoing enhancements and platform support. The consultant will work closely with existing ServiceNow developers and business stakeholders to build workflows, integrations, catalog items, and platform functionality across several ServiceNow modules.

The organization is looking for someone who can operate independently, take ownership of assigned work, and contribute across both development and administration responsibilities.

Current Environment & Project

The organization has an established ServiceNow environment and is continuing to expand the platform across multiple areas of the business.

Current priorities include new development within HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Integrated Risk Management (IRM), and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), along with continued enhancements and support within IT Service Management (ITSM).

The ServiceNow environment is also in the process of moving to the Australia release, so the consultant should be comfortable working within a modern ServiceNow platform and adapting to platform upgrades and changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain workflows within ServiceNow.

  • Build and enhance ServiceNow functionality across ITSM, HRSD, IRM, and TPRM.

  • Develop Service Catalog items, forms, workflows, and supporting platform components.

  • Configure and develop Flow Designer workflows, business rules, client scripts, and UI policies.

  • Integrate additional applications and tools with the ServiceNow platform.

  • Support ongoing ServiceNow administration and platform configuration.

  • Troubleshoot incidents, defects, bugs, and production issues.

  • Perform break-fix support and root-cause analysis when platform issues arise.

  • Develop new solutions while enhancing existing ServiceNow applications and processes.

  • Collaborate with existing ServiceNow developers on solution design and development standards.

  • Work directly with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into ServiceNow solutions.

  • Take ownership of assigned development initiatives and manage work independently.

Required Experience & Skills
  • Strong hands-on ServiceNow development experience.

  • Experience developing and supporting ServiceNow ITSM.

  • Experience with HR Service Delivery (HRSD).

  • Experience with Integrated Risk Management (IRM).

  • Experience with Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM).

  • Strong experience with ServiceNow Flow Designer and workflow development.

  • Experience developing business rules, client scripts, and UI policies.

  • Experience creating and maintaining Service Catalog items.

  • Experience integrating third-party tools or applications with ServiceNow.

  • Understanding of ServiceNow administration, configuration, and platform support.

  • Ability to troubleshoot ServiceNow incidents, bugs, and production issues.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage assigned responsibilities with limited oversight.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting ServiceNow within a large enterprise environment.

  • Experience working across multiple ServiceNow modules simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow platform upgrades and the Australia release.

  • Candidates located near St. Louis, Atlanta, Dallas, Philadelphia, Chicago, or Denver are preferred, although the position can be performed remotely.
