Junior Software Developer - Trading

We are looking for a Junior C# .NET Developer to join a growing technology team developing and supporting high-performance, real-time software systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career developer who is passionate about software development and wants to build their career working with C#, .NET and complex, high-volume systems.

You will work alongside experienced developers and gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle, contributing to systems where performance, reliability and scalability are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain applications using C# and .NET.
• Contribute to the development of high-performance and real-time software systems.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Work alongside senior developers to investigate and resolve technical issues.
• Develop new features and functionality based on business and technical requirements.
• Work with databases and SQL to retrieve and manage application data.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging.
• Help monitor and troubleshoot production systems.
• Collaborate with developers, testers and other technical teams.
• Learn and apply best practices around software development, performance and system reliability.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong educational background - At least a 2:1 in STEM subject
• Commercial experience developing with C#.
• Good understanding of .NET / .NET Core.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software development principles.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• A genuine interest in developing high-quality software.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a development team.

Desirable:

• Experience with ASP.NET Core or Web APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL Server.
• Exposure to multithreading, asynchronous programming or distributed systems.
• Experience with Git and modern development practices.
• Understanding of performance optimisation and low-latency systems.
• Exposure to automated testing and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
