Software Engineer Associate

Location: Onsite

Pay Rate: $40 - $55/hour

Job Summary

The Software Engineer Associate will support the design, development, and implementation of staining procedures for diagnostic software applications. Working closely with assay development, pathology, chemistry, and engineering teams, this role is responsible for developing software supplements, maintaining supporting database elements, and ensuring high-quality deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for entry level candidates or early-career engineers who are eager to build technical expertise within a collaborative Agile environment supporting medical diagnostic technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize staining procedures for diagnostic software applications.
  • Create software supplements used to install staining procedures.
  • Maintain and manage database components supporting application functionality.
  • Support the complete software development lifecycle from planning through deployment.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Pathology, Chemistry, Regulatory, Marketing, and Global Support teams.
  • Develop and maintain scripting solutions using C#, Python, and SQL.
  • Perform software testing, debugging, validation, and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with medical software standards and quality requirements.
  • Participate in Agile planning, sprint activities, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Document technical processes, procedures, and software updates.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Candidates with Life Sciences backgrounds (Biology or Chemistry) and programming experience are encouraged to apply.
  • 0-5 years of professional or internship experience.
  • Knowledge of C#, Python, and SQL.
  • Understanding of relational databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a Quality First mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industries.
  • Knowledge of Life Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or Pathology.
  • Experience with software testing and validation.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with automation or laboratory instruments.
  • Understanding of system engineering concepts.
  • Internship or hands-on experience in software development.
