Job Description

Apple is looking for world-class Thin Film Transistor (TFT) panel process engineer who will be an integral part of next Apple products. TFT process team is responsible for delivering advanced TFT panel technologies and architectures to realize world's best performance in iPad and Mac displays.

Seeking individual will serve as a focal point in overseeing the unit process and integration of TFT architecture; from research, development to mass production implementation of TFT panels. This includes AI-assisted various simulations and characterizations related to structural, device performance of TFT, in addition to performing failure analysis and navigating solutions with various disciplines within Apple.

Description

AI-Driven Automated Simulation & Mechanical Analysis to develop agentic AI workflows integrated with commercial TCAD and FEA tools to automate device physics and mechanical property analysis for accelerating pixel architecture development and panel-level performance evaluation

Virtual Prototyping & Process-Device Co-Optimization to construct realistic virtual stack-ups through process simulation to enable faster DFMEA/PFMEA and provide design guidance on film characteristics and reliability

AI-incorporated failure analysis and characterization to quickly identify the root cause and corrective action

Advanced Modeling & Strategic EDA Integration to deploy AI-enhanced compact models (SPICE/Verilog-A) to capture complex TFT behaviors and lifetime degradation

Responsible for TFT process of various TFT backplanes

Work with various display manufacturers from development to mass production stage

Fundamental study to seek future candidate of TFT technologies

Collaboration with cross-functional teams including, but not limited to: Display Optics, Touch, Display EE and Mechanical Engineering and so on

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Physics

TFT industry experience

Proficiency written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science and Physics

M.S degree in above mentioned disciplines plus 4 years of TFT industry experience

Hands-on, in-depth technical knowledge, and proven track record on development of various TFT technologies

Strong device physics background on various TFT technologies: a-Si, oxide and LTPS

Sound understanding of overall display manufacturing control, yield improvement and reliability requirements
