We are currently recruiting for a Stock Controller at our new chilled potato product packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Shift & Hours of work: Monday to Friday - fixed shift / Working 08:00hrs to 16:30hrs (there may be a requirement to work slightly later hours during period end stock count (once a month).
Rate of pay: Depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily/weekly counts of all raw ingredients, packaging materials, and completed food products.
- Order local, low-value consumables and ad-hoc PPE directly, while raising formal reorder requests to Head Office for centralized bulk items.
- Resolve variances between physical stock counts and (ERP) system records immediately.
- Check incoming deliveries against purchase orders for correct quantities, specification, lot numbers, and expiry dates. All packaging items must be rigorously checked against the specifications before they can be issued for Production. A system for holding these items until verified as good, must be followed.
- Report any damaged goods, short-dated materials, or packaging defects to the Warehouse Manager immediately.
- Ensure strict adherence to First-In, First-Out (FIFO) principles to guarantee full component traceability.
- Verify that raw materials and specialized packaging are accurately issued to production lines on time.
- Input accurate inventory data into the ERP system to maintain live stock visibility.
- Carryout physical stock counts of all inventory items at the end of each period (Every 4th Friday), reconcile these against the ERP system inventory records, investigate all variances, prepare all documents for the Warehouse manager.
- Previous experience of inventory control experience, ideally within food manufacturing or FMCG sectors is advantageous.
- Food Safety level 2 is preferred
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP software and handheld barcode scanning technology.
- Good knowledge of food safety standards (BRCGS/HACCP) and basic health and safety regulations regarding PPE
- Strong mathematical skills with high attention to detail for precise bulk weight conversions.
- Ability to work in varied temperature environments, including chilled production areas and ambient warehouses.
- Basic understanding of purchase orders (POs), lead times, and local supplier management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others as well as independently.
