Chief Engineer

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead building engineering operations for a high-profile commercial real estate portfolio. You will oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, manage preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensure safety, compliance, and energy efficiency. The Chief Engineer will supervise technicians and vendors, manage budgets and capital projects, and support sustainability, technology-enabled solutions, and continuous improvement to deliver exceptional building performance and client satisfaction in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across assigned properties.
• Develop and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to maximize system uptime.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff, technicians, and contractors to ensure quality work.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level expectations.
• Monitor energy use and implement sustainability and efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, code, and regulatory requirements for all building systems.
• Plan and manage capital improvement projects, including budgeting and execution.
• Respond to critical equipment issues and emergencies, coordinating timely resolution.
• Collaborate with property management and clients to address building performance needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports for audits, compliance, and planning.
