Software Engineer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support long-term client initiatives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is a Long-term Contract position focused on building and enhancing enterprise-grade applications across web, backend, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate brings strong full-stack development expertise and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable software solutions.

Responsibilities

Create, enhance, and support software applications that are designed for scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability. Develop server-side components and service layers using technologies such as C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Java, Spring, or Python. Build responsive user-facing features with modern web technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks such as React. Connect applications with relational databases, external platforms, and internal services through well-structured integrations and APIs.

Write and optimize database queries, schemas, and data access logic across platforms such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. Contribute to peer reviews, troubleshooting efforts, automated testing, and performance tuning to improve overall code quality. Collaborate within Agile delivery teams and participate in continuous integration and deployment practices to support efficient releases. Assist with modernization efforts, including cloud adoption and updates to legacy applications when required.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in software engineering or application development.
Hands-on backend development experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Java with Spring, Python, or similar technologies.
Proficiency in front-end development using JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one modern framework such as React or Angular.
Strong understanding of relational databases and experience working with SQL-based data platforms.
Experience designing, building, or integrating RESTful APIs in production environments.
Familiarity with source control tools such as Git and established software development best practices.
Exposure to cloud platforms, containerization, orchestration, or CI/CD tools, including technologies such as Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes, is highly valued.
