Solution Architect TOGAF Azure AWS

We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to lead the design, architecture, and delivery of large-scale enterprise technology solutions. This role requires a blend of business consulting, enterprise architecture, software engineering, cloud technologies, and program leadership.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, and business leaders to transform business objectives into scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, driving architecture strategy and execution across cloud, data, applications, integrations, and modernization initiatives.

Because this position supports programs involving export-controlled information and technologies, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Functional Architecture

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic goals, operational challenges, and business processes.
• Lead requirements workshops, discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and process-mapping activities.
• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, solution designs, and acceptance criteria.
• Conduct gap analysis and identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and modernization.
• Align technology investments with business outcomes and organizational strategy.

Solution Architecture Leadership

• Define end-to-end solution architectures across applications, integrations, cloud services, security, and data platforms.
• Develop architecture blueprints, roadmaps, reference architectures, and implementation strategies.
• Lead architecture review boards and governance processes.
• Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise standards for scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Evaluate technologies, platforms, and vendors, providing recommendations based on business and technical requirements.

Cloud, Data & Integration Architecture

• Architect cloud-native and hybrid solutions leveraging AWS and/or Azure.
• Design API-first, microservices-based, and event-driven architectures.
• Lead enterprise integration strategy, data flows, data mapping, and system interoperability initiatives.
• Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to establish governance standards and architecture patterns.
• Support enterprise modernization and digital transformation programs.

Software Engineering & DevSecOps

• Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight throughout the SDLC.
• Drive adoption of DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation practices.
• Establish architecture patterns, engineering standards, and reusable solution frameworks.
• Promote engineering excellence through modern development methodologies and automation.
• Leverage AI-assisted development technologies, including KIRO, GitHub Copilot, and Generative AI tools, to improve delivery efficiency and quality.

Program & Delivery Leadership

• Lead cross-functional teams through planning, execution, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Manage architecture decisions, dependencies, risks, and technical governance activities.
• Support Agile, Scrum, and SAFe delivery models, including release planning and backlog management.
• Track program milestones, KPIs, architectural risks, and executive-level reporting.
• Ensure successful delivery while maintaining alignment with strategic business priorities.

Quality, Governance & Compliance

• Support solution validation, UAT, production readiness reviews, and deployment activities.
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, risk, and governance requirements.
• Lead architecture assurance and solution compliance reviews.
• Support change management, stakeholder communications, and technology adoption initiatives.
• Present architecture recommendations and strategic guidance to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, or Technology Consulting.
• Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions across cloud, applications, integrations, and data platforms.
• Strong background in business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management.
• Hands-on software development and architecture experience in modern enterprise environments.
• Extensive experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience designing APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of:

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, etc.)
• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate independently in highly complex environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
• Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Experience working within TOGAF or comparable Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
• Experience leading cloud migration and enterprise modernization programs.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled software development, automation, and Generative AI solutions.
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries.

ITAR / Export Control Requirement

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $130000/year

Pay Range Maximum: $175000/year

A candidate s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
