Key Job Responsibilities

You will own the engineering, implementation, and evolution of large scale networks, spanning the full lifecycle of deployment to operational reliability. You will lead network projects focused on scaling, technology refreshes, deployment implementations, and optimisation. When customer impacting events occur, you will troubleshoot, resolve, and build automation to prevent recurrence. Your analytical mindset will drive you to interrogate the network with advanced tools and metrics, ensuring secure, safe, and reliable operation. You will develop processes and automation, design sustainable repeatable processes, evaluate emerging networking technologies, and integrate them securely.

Basic Qualifications

• Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl).
• At least 4 years of hands on experience in a network focused technical role working with routing protocols and platforms in large scale data centre and/or WAN environments.
• Solid understanding of network troubleshooting and performance, including TCP performance (latency, jitter, buffers), throughput/packet rate testing, and L2/L3 path selection.
• Ability to discuss and compare features within routing protocols from a distributed systems perspective, with experience applying routing protocols to large scale networks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or delivering results for large cross functional initiatives.
• Comfortable discussing network design principles and selecting platforms to implement designs in large scale environments.
• Understanding of packet flow through network platforms, including differences between chassis and pizza box architectures, and shallow versus deep buffer considerations.
• Experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP networking systems at scale.
