Senior Manager, Technical Accounting

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL



About the Opportunity

Our client is a global, multi-entity organization with a diverse portfolio of businesses and operations across domestic and international markets. As the organization continues to expand and pursue strategic growth initiatives, they are seeking a Senior Manager of Technical Accounting to provide leadership and guidance on complex accounting matters, financial reporting requirements, and significant business transactions.

This is a highly visible position within the finance organization, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, support key business decisions, and contribute to strategic initiatives across the enterprise.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical accounting initiatives across multiple business units and international operations.
  • Research, evaluate, and apply relevant accounting guidance to complex business transactions and reporting matters.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization.
  • Prepare and review accounting position papers and technical memoranda related to significant transactions and accounting conclusions.
  • Partner with external advisors, auditors, and internal stakeholders on technical accounting matters.
  • Review and support financial statement disclosures and reporting requirements.
  • Assess the accounting impact of acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, new contracts, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Provide guidance throughout the lifecycle of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other complex transactions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop members of the accounting team while fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
  • Support enterprise-wide projects and cross-functional initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
  • Experience researching and documenting accounting positions and conclusions.
  • Exposure to complex transactions, business combinations, or corporate accounting matters is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
