Job description

High performance isn't a given. It’s built on standards.

Standards that have driven McLaren for over 60 years.

And if you’re ready for the challenge, that standard is yours to own.

Burning enthusiasm. Constant improvement. The thrill in the pursuit of better.

That’s how we build a legacy. And how you build a career here.

Because racing isn’t just something we do. It’s who we are.

We are racers.

Are you?

What You'll Do

Please note - this is a fixed-term contract until March 2027.

You will own and deliver the financial consolidation of McLaren Group Limited, alongside providing experienced accounting support to the Financial Control Team across McLaren Racing Limited. You’ll help ensure accurate intercompany accounting and eliminations under FRS 102, while supporting Group reporting under IFRS.

Alongside consolidation, you’ll provide hands-on financial accounting support across month-end reporting, balance-sheet control, statutory and audit requirements and finance-process improvement. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Financial Control, you’ll combine technical judgement with practical delivery and support less-experienced colleagues across the team.

You’ll take ownership of key areas of Group consolidation, financial accounting and control, including:

  • Own the end-to-end financial consolidation of McLaren Group Limited accounts under FRS 102, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Prepare and review consolidation journals, intercompany eliminations and supporting schedules, maintaining a clear audit trail.
  • Own intercompany and related-party reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and coordinating their resolution across Group entities.
  • Support consolidated financial statements, disclosures and analysis, including complex or judgemental consolidation areas.
  • Provide financial accounting support across month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments and other accounting entries.
  • Prepare or review balance-sheet reconciliations and control accounts, investigating unusual or aged items.
  • Support statutory reporting and external audit through accurate, complete and audit-ready schedules, reconciliations and working papers.
  • Apply FRS 102 and Group accounting policies within the role’s scope, escalating areas requiring judgement.
  • Prepare Group reporting to shareholders with awareness of IFRS conversion requirements.
  • Support finance-process and ERP improvements, including data validation, testing and reconciliation.
  • Provide practical guidance and knowledge-sharing to less-experienced colleagues.

What You'll Bring

You’ll be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent, with relevant industry or practice experience and strong hands-on experience of multi-entity Group consolidation.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong experience of consolidation journals, intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
  • Experience applying FRS 102 within a consolidation or financial reporting environment.
  • Management accounting and broader financial accounting experience, including month-end close and balance-sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience supporting statutory accounts preparation and external audit.
  • The ability to understand complex transactions, analyse large datasets and identify anomalies, trends and control issues.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using an ERP or financial accounting system.
  • The ability to prioritise competing deadlines and work effectively in a changing environment.
  • Process improvement, finance transformation or ERP change experience would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Formula 1 Financial Regulations and cost-cap reporting would be advantageous
