Job Title: Enterprise Architect – Part time (25 hours per week)
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 Months (with potential for extension)
Start Date: estimated - 9/14/2026
W2 Hourly Rate: $55 - $75/hour

Overview:
We are seeking an Enterprise Architect who will support our NYC client. The Enterprise Architect will provide senior-level leadership to stabilize and mature the Enterprise Architecture function across Corporate Products, Transportation, and Business Architecture teams. This part-time engagement (25 hours per week) will establish governance, strengthen architecture decision-making, and align enterprise architecture with modernization and AI-assisted delivery initiatives.
Duties:
- Provide day-to-day leadership for Enterprise Architecture teams supporting Corporate Products, Transportation, and Business Architecture.
- Establish an effective operating rhythm for standups, intake triage, prioritization, and architecture decision support.
- Mentor architects and elevate architectural thinking and decision quality across product and delivery teams.
- Define and implement lightweight Enterprise Architecture governance, standards, and engagement models.
- Establish architecture review processes and practical decision frameworks for complex enterprise initiatives.
- Align Enterprise Architecture activities with modernization programs and enterprise transformation priorities.
- Integrate AI-driven architecture methods into architecture products, modernization workflows, and decision support.
- Assess Enterprise Architecture team capabilities, identify maturity gaps, and recommend targeted improvements.

Educational & Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Desirable Qualifications:
- 10+ years of enterprise architecture consulting experience providing strategic architecture guidance in federal or state environments.
- 5+ years of IT acquisition reform experience supporting enterprise-level acquisition and transformation programs.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- 20+ years of total experience in enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or modernization leadership.
- 15+ years of Enterprise Architecture leadership experience leading EA teams, defining frameworks, establishing governance, and driving enterprise-wide architecture programs.
- 10+ years applying Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF, BEA, and ETP in complex environments.
- 15+ years of systems engineering experience designing and modernizing large-scale systems across multiple domains.
- 7+ years of cloud architecture experience with AWS and Google Cloud, including cloud transitions, modernization, and secure cloud adoption.
- 5+ years of Zero Trust Architecture experience aligned with NIST Zero Trust principles and modern enterprise cybersecurity standards.
- 10+ years of Microservices and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) design experience.
- 3+ years of experience integrating AI into architecture methods, modernization workflows, architecture products, or decision support.
- 10+ years of executive advisory experience advising CIOs, CTOs, and senior executives on enterprise architecture strategy.
- 10+ years of team mentoring and capability-building experience focused on architecture maturity and discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven ability to stabilize and mature Enterprise Architecture functions in complex organizations.
