Position: Part time Security Architect
Work Arrangement: Remote

Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
Duration: 9 Months Contract

 

IRG Clients is seeking for a Senior Security Architect to provide security leadership for a large-scale technology modernization program. The role will focus on cloud security, enterprise architecture, applications, APIs, infrastructure, data, identity, and legacy system integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and guide security architecture for complex modernization initiatives.
• Integrate security, privacy, risk, and compliance requirements into technology solutions.
• Perform security and risk assessments for applications, cloud services, integrations, infrastructure, and vendor solutions.
• Develop and maintain security standards, controls, secure architecture patterns, and configuration requirements.
• Provide expertise in Zero Trust, IAM, authentication, authorization, privileged access, and least-privilege security.
• Develop system-hardening and secure configuration strategies for cloud, applications, databases, infrastructure, and endpoints.
• Identify security vulnerabilities, risks, and control gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Support vulnerability management, remediation, security monitoring, and incident response activities.
• Review vendor security documentation, architecture designs, and technical solutions.
• Collaborate with application, data, infrastructure, integration/API, and enterprise architecture teams.
• Support security audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and architecture governance.
• Maintain security architecture documentation, standards, reference architectures, and technical guidance.
• Evaluate emerging cloud and cybersecurity technologies and provide recommendations.
• Ensure security requirements are addressed throughout the requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and operational phases.
• Provide technical leadership and security expertise to project teams and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Security Architect, Cybersecurity Architect, Enterprise Security Architect, or similar senior security role.
• Strong experience designing security architectures for complex enterprise environments and modernization programs.
• Strong experience with cloud security architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Zero Trust security principles.
• Extensive experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication, authorization, privileged access, and access governance.
• Experience performing security risk assessments, security impact assessments, architecture reviews, and compliance evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of security controls, vulnerability management, system hardening, secure configuration, and security monitoring.
• Experience securing applications, APIs, infrastructure, data platforms, cloud services, and legacy environments.
• Experience evaluating third-party/vendor security solutions and documentation.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements in large or highly regulated organizations.
• Excellent communication, documentation, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
