Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Android Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience building consumer-facing mobile applications using modern Android technologies, with expertise in Jetpack Compose, Kotlin, and location-based services. This role requires strong technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.

 

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Android application development.
  • Proven experience developing and publishing Android applications on the Google Play Store.
  • Strong expertise in Jetpack Compose and Compose UI.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Maps, HERE Maps, or Mapbox.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, Android Studio, and Gradle.
  • Strong understanding of MVVM, MVC, and VIPER architecture patterns.
  • Solid knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID design principles.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of Material Design guidelines.
  • Experience with Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain clean, reusable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with product owners, designers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
  • Contribute innovative ideas to improve application performance, user experience, and development processes.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices across the team.

 

Education

  • Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Local candidates to Alpharetta, GA only.
  • Onsite role with mandatory in-person interview.
