Job Title: AWS Cloud Automation & Monitoring Engineer

Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Possible Extensions)

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Model: Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)

Job Description:

• Build and manage AWS-based monitoring, automation, and event-driven solutions to enhance system reliability and incident response.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement monitoring using CloudWatch (metrics, logs, dashboards, alarms)
• Build and maintain infrastructure using AWS core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, ALB, ASG)
• Develop event-driven architectures using Lambda, SNS, SQS, API Gateway
• Integrate AWS alerts with ServiceNow (SNOW) for automated incident management
• Automate operational tasks using SSM (Run Command, Documents)
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using CDK / CloudFormation
• Write automation scripts in Python / Bash
• Ensure system reliability through proactive monitoring, alerting, and remediation

Required Skills:

• AWS Cloud (core + serverless)

• ServiceNow integration

Preferred:

• Experience with CloudWatch monitoring frameworks
• SNOW integration for alerts
• Event-driven architecture implementation

Nice to Have:

• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with multi-account AWS environments
• Knowledge of logging/observability tools beyond CloudWatch (e.g., ELK, Splunk)
