About the Role

The Digital and Graphic Design Coordinator sits within the Human Rights Solution Branch of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission. The role is responsible for the upkeep of the Commission's website and creating visually compelling, functional, and user-centred digital and print assets that support attitudinal and behaviour change for projects within the Human Rights Solutions branch and more broadly throughout the Commission.

The role is an opportunity to:

  • Consulting with project leads and/or stakeholders to understand project objectives, target audiences, and constraints.
  • Designing digital and print marketing assets - such as social media graphics, website pages, email templates, reports, brochures, and logos - in compliance with Commission brand guidelines.
  • Designing engaging web content that automatically scales and functions smoothly across multiple devices (desktops, tablets, and mobile phones).
  • Negotiating design solutions with stakeholders employing best practice tools and techniques, and whole-of-Victorian Government guidelines.
  • Contribute knowledge and expertise to the benefit of the branch, and the organisation.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Asset creation and responsive layouts: Experience creating content for a range of target audiences for digital media, aligned with a defined communications and digital strategy, using a variety of programs to create engaging content that automatically scales and functions smoothly across multiple devices and systems.
  • Coding & CMS Integration: Experience writing and manipulating program code (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or using Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress or Shopify to build and update sites.
  • Optimization & Testing: Demonstrated ability to optimize websites for maximum speed, scalability, and performance. Conducting thorough testing to fix bugs prior to launch.
  • UI/UX Principles: Demonstrated ability in applying best practices for user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) to ensure the website is intuitive, accessible, and engaging

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in communications, graphic design, digital media or another related discipline or equivalent experience is desirable
