Survey CAD Technician

Description Take your CAD skills to a fast-growing surveying and civil engineering team serving Long Island and New York City, with projects that demand precision and real-world impact. This Survey CAD Technician opportunity is based in Plainview, NY, fully onsite, supporting boundary, topographic, construction, subdivision, and site-planning work.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Survey CAD Technician position include: 1–3+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience for land surveying or civil engineering projects (entry-level candidates with strong relevant education and internships will be considered). Process field data and prepare detailed survey drawings, boundary plats, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, subdivision maps, and site plans in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred). Create and maintain 3D models, point clouds, and flood elevation certificates when required.

Revise and update drawings based on client, surveyor, or municipal feedback. Ensure deliverables meet New York State surveying standards, local codes, and company quality requirements. Collaborate closely with licensed surveyors, engineers, and project managers to deliver projects on time. Perform deed research and record searches as needed to support drafting tasks. Maintain organized project files and assist with internal quality control reviews.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience; $100,000 - $135,000 for candidates with a PLS license.
