Job Description
Contract: August 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 (possible extension)
Job Title: Systems Administrator
Three (3) to five (5) years of IT work experience requiring expertise in multiple system environments.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable
• A minimum of five (5) years of Windows server administration experience with three (3) years administering Windows 2016 and newer;
• A minimum of three (3) years of Microsoft Azure and Cloud experience;
• A minimum of two (2) years of AWS experience;
• A minimum of five (5) years administering Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), and Group Policy in environments with over 1,000 users;
• A minimum of three (3) years of Linux server management experience;
• Demonstrated experience writing, testing, and executing PowerShell scripts;
• Experience working in virtual server and Cloud environments; and
• Experience installing, maintaining, and supporting third-party applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
The Department prefers the Candidates to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:
• Experience managing projects with a large, distributed user base;
• Experience developing and managing schedules for multiple projects;
• Experience working in the MS Azure Government and AWS clouds;
• Experience with state government projects;
• Experience managing and reporting project metrics in strict compliance with Rule 60GG-1, F.A.C.;
• Experience working with technical programming teams;
• Ability to demonstrate a professional can-do attitude with the initiative to solve complex problems;
• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders;
• Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment;
• Knowledge in other IT areas such as programming, data analytics, etc.;
• Proven team player attitude with a high-energy level and diligent work ethic; and
• Ability to meet or exceed deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and organize and prioritize activities.
