Job Description

Principal Engineer – Electrical Engineering (Power) | Kirkby-in-Furness, United Kingdom | Hybrid | £57,500 This employer is a prominent force in the defense industry, known for its cutting-edge engineering and commitment to national security. The Role • Develop design solutions to meet project milestones for time, cost, and quality. • Manage system or product-specific requirements and acceptance criteria. • Understand contractual and performance requirements for various systems, supporting acceptance activities. • Produce necessary documentation for design reviews, including diagrams, specifications, and calculations. • Provide technical support for performance and acceptance activities, from supplier equipment to customer system acceptance. • Contribute to bid and project planning by supporting estimates for scope and resources. What You'll Need • BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent qualification, with CEng status or eligibility. • Demonstrable experience across the engineering lifecycle. • Understanding of power system modelling, generators, switchgear, protection, or power electronics. • In-depth knowledge of Power System Architecture, Power Generation and Distribution, Protection and Co-ordination, or Power Earth Fault Monitoring. • Significant experience with AC and DC electrical power systems. • Experience working within industry codes and standards in a relevant engineering role.
