Maintenance Engineer

Vacancy – Maintenance Engineer Location – Dewsbury Hours – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid break) Salary – up to £38,000 About the Role We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team within a busy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of production machinery, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption.

Working closely with the maintenance and production teams, you will provide both planned and reactive engineering support while contributing to ongoing improvements across the site.

Key Responsibilities Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities (PPM) on manufacturing machinery and site equipment.<br />Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults.<br />Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns to minimise production downtime.<br />Carry out fault finding and root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.<br />Support equipment installations, upgrades and improvement projects.<br />Complete maintenance documentation and ensure accurate records are maintained.<br />Follow all company health and safety procedures and promote safe working practices.<br />Work closely with production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.<br />Contribute ideas and solutions to continuous improvement initiatives.<br />Skills &amp; Experience Required Previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or similar role within a manufacturing environment.<br />Strong mechanical maintenance skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve faults.<br />Experience working with electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.<br />Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and maintenance documentation.<br />Good understanding of industrial health and safety requirements.<br />A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.<br />Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team.<br />Qualifications Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City &amp; Guilds, HNC or equivalent is desirable.<br />Apprentice-trained engineers are encouraged to apply.<br />Benefits Competitive starting hourly rate of £16.72, increasing to £18.87 following successful completion of probation.<br />Monthly attendance bonus of £50 (available after 3 months' service).<br />Company pension scheme.<br />Death in service benefit.<br />Free on-site parking.<br />Training and development opportunities.<br />Supportive engineering team environment.<br />Opportunity to develop your career within an established and growing manufacturing business.<br />Aqumen Business Solutions is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
