Job Description

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Remote
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer contractor to join the Working Capital Team. You'll help build and scale working capital capabilities for small businesses on Client's platform, supporting reliable experiences across millions of transactions.
What You'll Do:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and payment automation features.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Help translate business needs into practical technical designs and development plans.
What You'll Bring:
  • At least 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 12+ years of work experience maybe considered in lieu of degree.
  • Java Backend development experience
  • Java programming experience, including writing testable code
  • Experience writing unit test cases and automation test scripts to abide by Full Cycle Engineering
  • Experience with merge methodologies using version control systems like GitLab, BitBucket etc
  • Experience with database technologies such as Oracle, RDS, DynamoDB
  • Experience with REST communication
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Experience in distributed system design, algorithms, logging framework
  • Experience working on large scale, complex applications
  • Experience designing and building scalable cloud-native applications that are deployed in one or more public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience in complex problem-solving in large-scale distributed systems, performance optimization, and high-availability systems.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience in more advanced or cutting-edge technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Serverless Architectures, AI/ML frameworks, Advanced Cloud Services).
  • Experience in designing and implementing microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Experience in the payments industry or building payment applications.
