Job ref: N Job type: Permanent Location: NIFRS Headquarters, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, BT27 4SX Salary: PO10 £63,837 - £67,434 Quantity of Posts Available: 1 Closing date: Thu 06 August 2026 Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) serves the entire community, a population of 1.9 million in an area of over 5,500 square miles. NIFRS has a proud tradition and history of serving the community with distinction. NIFRS wish to invite applications for the following role: Programme Manager Job Ref N The Programme Manager will lead a number of priority programmes with an initial focus on delivery of the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Programme, from shaping the approach to achieve the desired outcomes through to successful delivery. The position involves: Coordinating projects and resource management within the programme Stakeholder and sponsor communications Reporting and Programme financial management In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, organisations like Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service face an imperative to adapt, innovate, and continually improve the way they operate. The Data, Digital & Technology (DDaT) Strategy 2025-30 lays the groundwork for an ambitious programme of change designed to fundamentally transform ways of working to enable NIFRS to better serve our people and communities. The Strategy is built on the foundation of modernising legacy technologies, streamlining processes, and embracing digital solutions that empower employees to work more efficiently and effectively. This will not only enhance productivity but create an environment where innovation can flourish. As we modernise our digital suite, we will improve data quality and the flow of that data throughout the service. A step-change is needed in how we manage our data to ensure we can leverage it for strategic impact. By integrating cutting-edge solutions into our daily operations, we will unlock new opportunities for growth, resilience, and agility across our service. Hours of work Currently 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. A Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation. In view of the level of this appointment, the post holder will be required to work in such a way as to fulfil the obligations of the post. Hybrid working may also be available subject to service need. There is 1 permanent post based at NIFRS HQ, Lisburn. This recruitment and selection process will also be used to fill future vacancies, a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional permanent or fixed term vacancies arise (offers of posts will be made in merit order). Salary The salary scale is PO10. The salary range is currently £63,837 - £67,434 per annum (Under Review) Information is provided in the candidate information pack.
