Systems Engineer

Position: Systems Engineer - Projects Integrated Project Team at Raytheon Australia, Henderson, Western Australia. Reporting to the Senior Principal Systems Engineer, this role supports the development of Australia's Submarine Combat System.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement product solutions for integration into the Combat System.
• Lead and conduct product verification and validation activities, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
• Generate and maintain product design certification documentation in accordance with system product specifications.
• Provide engineering support to transition products into service.
• Conduct technical risk analysis and lead junior engineers in documenting and executing verification and validation activities.
• Run major reviews throughout the project lifecycle, including peer reviews, preliminary and detailed design reviews, and test readiness reviews.
• Mentor junior team members to build skills in systems engineering methodology and required tools and procedures.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Systems Engineering, including requirements definition, management, analysis, design, integration, and verification in fields such as Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Communication, Software, or Combat/RF Systems.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders at client, peer, supplier, and senior leadership levels.
• Knowledge of project management milestones and ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision to meet scheduled commitments.
• Availability to undertake travel as required by the role.
• Eligibility to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working within Defence or a highly regulated industry.
• Experience with Microsoft and Atlassian tool suites (Teams, JIRA, Confluence).
• Experience with scientific or engineering documentation and test engineering processes and procedures.
• Experience with Linux operating systems, networking, and technical problem solving.
