Job Description

HAIL Partners is working with a European Private Equity firm who are seeking a Vice President, HR Operations to join their London team. The role covers HR governance, employee relations and regulatory compliance including SMCR.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and governance frameworks in line with current employment legislation and best practice
  • Design and deliver internal governance controls, including audit trails, policy sign-off processes and risk registers
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations casework, including disciplinary, grievance and performance matters
  • Personally manage or closely oversee sensitive workplace investigations
  • Advise and coach line managers and senior stakeholders on employee relations issues
  • Hold governance responsibility for HR-related regulatory obligations, including SMCR
  • Maintain and evidence robust processes for certification, fitness and propriety assessments
  • Ensure HR operations comply with employment legislation, data protection regulations (including GDPR) and internal policies
  • Lead, coach and develop the HR operations team
  • Act as day-to-day point of contact for line managers and employees on HR operational and employee relations matters


Role Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a comparable sector or organisation
  • Track record of partnering with senior leaders, managers and employees on process improvement, governance and complex employee relations
  • Sound working knowledge of employment law and its practical application
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex, sensitive and high-risk employee relations cases from inception to resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise at all levels
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • CIPD qualified
  • Working knowledge of European employment law principles and exposure to multi-jurisdiction working
