TheConsumer Data Right (CDR) is one of the Australian Government's keydigital policy initiatives, and critical to achieving the goal ofbeing a leading digital economy and society by 2030. The ACCC isaccountable to regulate and deliver the Consumer Data Right workingclosely with Treasury (with overall policy responsibility) andother regulators. The CDR will allow consumers to transfer theirdata more easily between providers. Data sharing will allowconsumers to compare and switch between products and services, andwill encourage competition between providers, leading not only tobetter prices for consumers but also more innovative products andservices.

What you will doas the Data and AnalyticsEngineer

The Dataand Analytics Engineer and Senior Data and Analytics Engineer playan integral role supporting the Division's data integrationstrategies and contribute to the improvement of business dataquality.

As an APS5Data and Analytics Engineer, you will:

• Support thedevelopment of data integration solutions across variousplatforms and systems.
• Develop interactivedashboards to facilitate analytics through thedivision.
• Contribute to a teamculture that has a strong focus towards teamwork, communicationand cooperation.
• Assistin enhancing business data quality, focusing on accuracy andconsistency.
• Collaborate with teammembers on Divisional and governmental data integrationprojects.
• Explore, develop andincorporate potential AI solutions into existing automationprojects to reduce manual tasks within the CDRdivision.

As an APS6Senior Data and Analytics Engineer, you will:

• Provide guidance,training, and mentoring to junior team members, buildorganisational capacity in data analytics and interpretation,and promote a culture of data-driven decisionmaking.
• Construct automateddata extraction processes and build data visualisations usingSQL, Power BI and Python, or other tools as prescribed by theagency.
• Engagewith internal stakeholders at various levels to discover datarequirements and understand business needs.
• Communicate complextechnical concepts to a variety of audiences, in written form(e.g., emails, reports) and verbally (e.g. facilitation ofmeetings and presentations).
• Identify data insightsand present in a consumable format to inform evidence-baseddecision making.
• Explore, develop andincorporate potential AI solutions into existing automationprojects to reduce manual tasks within the CDRdivision.

Aboutyou

Allcandidates are expected to meet the APS Integrated Leadership Profile (ILS) for the classificationadvertised. Follow the link for more information on the ILS. Thisrole in particular requires:

• Demonstrated abilityto work in a team, fostering a psychologically safety andproductive work environment. Commitment to confidentiality andsecure handling of sensitive information.
• Effectivecommunication skills and ability to grasp and apply dataintegration concepts and data quality principles.
• Capability to workwithin Git repositories, to read, write and modify SQL, PowerBI and Python code for a variety of extraction/transformationand visualisation tasks.
• Eagerness to learnabout data model design, simple data structures and analyticalprocesses and ability to apply that knowledge.
• Interest in exploringdata quality tools and methodologies and ability to apply thatknowledge.
• Exposure to Azurecloud environments and Azure Data Factory.
• Demonstrated interestin AI Engineering.

APS6Senior Data and Analytics Engineer

• Demonstratedexperience leading a data team or similar role in a fast-pacedand large complex people-centred organisation.
• Excellentinterpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagementskills, with the ability to convey complex technical conceptsto a variety of audiences.
• Demonstrated abilityto work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage competingdeadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstratedexperience in creating data visualisations using PowerBI.
• Provenability to conduct data analysis, interpret results, identifypatterns and trends, and connect various datasources.
• Tertiaryqualifications in statistics, mathematics, computer science,economics, or a related field will be highlyregarded.
• Experience with Agilemethodologies such as SAFe and an understanding of datagovernance frameworks would also be advantageous.
