Software Engineer 3 with Security Clearance

Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Software Engineer 3's for a contract opportunity in Redondo Beach, CA. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE) * 12 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 10 years of relevant experience with Master's degree; 8 years of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
* Must have the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company prior to start date.
* Working knowledge of Advanced Object-Oriented programming.
* Working knowledge of the C++ programming language.
* Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Looking for an Engineer Software 3 to support the Western Region Software Engineering department. As a member of this department, you'll get to support Development and Operations & Maintenance contracts. This position will serve 100% on-site in a SCIF in Redondo Beach, CA. Responsibilities: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE) * DevSecOps Test Automation experience.
* Experience with programming/scripting languages: C++, C, Java, Python, Perl.
* Strong skills in math and algorithms.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and stakeholders.
* Previous participation on an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process.
* Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
* Experience developing in a Linux environment using git.
* Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
* Active TS/SCI security clearance. REQUIRED EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent is required. School must be accredited. WORK HOURS 9/80 workweek.
