Job Overview:
Meta is seeking a Temporary Electrical Engineer to act as a domain expert supporting AI Research initiatives. In this role, you will bridge the gap between traditional electrical engineering and artificial intelligence by helping the team develop, validate, and stress-test AI tools tailored for hardware, circuit design, and electrical systems analysis. You will collaborate closely with AI researchers to evaluate engineering workflows, define benchmarks, and ensure AI outputs meet the rigorous standards of the discipline. This is a temporary role and is not a full-time employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Validate AI workflows by evaluating the feasibility, safety, and practical utility of AI-generated circuit designs, schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical simulations.
• Define tasks and benchmarks by designing, collecting, and validating specific engineering tasks, edge cases, and evaluation metrics (validators) for AI models.
• Provide domain expertise across a wide range of electrical engineering sub-disciplines, including circuit design, power systems, signal processing, and embedded systems, to assess model performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with AI researchers and stakeholders to translate complex electrical constraints into actionable feedback for model training.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and documented processes for all evaluated deliverables and AI-generated outputs.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency with industry-standard EDA and simulation tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, or Ansys HFSS.
• Broad foundational knowledge across electrical sub-fields, including circuit design, power systems, signal processing, and embedded systems.
• Experience working in cross-functional environments and effectively communicating technical engineering information to non-domain audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic scripting skills in Python or MATLAB to parse data or interface with AI environments (advanced software engineering or machine learning expertise is not required).

Education/Experience:

• 3-5+ years of practical, post-graduation electrical engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.

Pay Range: $60 - $66

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
