Title: Supervising Electrical Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: Full Time
Work Mode: Hybrid (Monday to Thursday in the office for 9 hours and Friday for 4 hours remotely at home and fun social events)
 
Job Description
We are seeking a Supervising Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering projects and teams. This role is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and assigning projects, serving as the Engineer of Record, managing technical design activities, and representing the firm in interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and project teams.
 
Responsibilities
  • Act as Engineer of Record on dedicated projects.
  • Supervise and lead coordination meetings.
  • Lead and supervise staff members.
  • Assist Technical Manager and Chief Engineer in technical training and staff mentoring.
  • Coordinate and assign projects to the engineering team.
  • Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects.
  • Manage Construction Administration duties, including field reports, RFIs, Bulletins, and Addenda.
  • Coordinate with accounting to prepare monthly project invoices.
  • Monitor project accounts receivable and contact clients as needed to expedite payment.
  • Monitor correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, and owners.
  • Participate in firmwide Expert Teams committee.
  • Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Prepare proposals and administer project contracts, including add service agreements.
  • Supervise preparation of analysis and reports of system options and building conditions.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience working in a consulting firm.
  • Background in the MEP Engineering industry.
  • 7+ years of Project Management experience.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience.
  • Current PE registration.
  • Healthcare design experience.
  • Experience with Healthcare, Federal, Critical Facilities, Commercial, and Aviation projects.
