Job Description

Job/Position Summary

Responsibilities:

Powertrain & OBD Controls Development

  • Develop and maintain Powertrain Control and OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) software features.
  • Define OBD control requirements and diagnostic strategies.
  • Support OBD-I/OBD-II controls development, validation, and production release activities.
  • Ensure compliance with diagnostic and emission-related requirements.

Embedded Software Development

  • Develop embedded software using C, C++, and Model-Based Design methodologies.
  • Perform firmware development and integration across the complete V-cycle.
  • Configure and integrate low-level device drivers and peripherals.
  • Support hardware bring-up and embedded system integration activities.

Model-Based Development & Automation

  • Design and develop control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Utilize TargetLink for auto-code generation.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to improve engineering efficiency and validation activities.
  • Support calibration and data analysis tool development.

Validation & Diagnostics

  • Perform SIL/HIL testing and validation activities.
  • Conduct vehicle-level validation and diagnostic verification.
  • Develop and execute test strategies for OBD diagnostics and control features.
  • Perform DFMEA analysis and ensure robust implementation of requirements.

Problem Resolution & Quality Improvement

  • Lead issue investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Investigate development defects and field/warranty issues.
  • Support Warranty Analysis Teams in diagnosing customer and dealership-reported concerns.
  • Drive continuous quality improvements through preventive and corrective actions.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with software, calibration, validation, and systems engineering teams.
  • Support architectural decisions and best-practice implementation for embedded control systems.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Automotive Embedded Systems and Powertrain Controls.
  • Strong understanding of automotive software development processes and V-cycle development.
  • Experience working with diagnostics, emissions compliance, and vehicle validation activities.
