Health, Safety &amp; Environmental Manager<br />Location: Caerphilly, South Wales<br />Job Type: Fixed-Term Contract (6 Months)<br />Hours: Full-Time<br />Salary:

Competitive (£40-45k DOE)<br />About the Opportunity<br />Rhino Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation based in Caerphilly for an experienced Health, Safety &amp; Environmental Manager.<br />This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional to play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation and continual improvement of an Integrated Management System (IMS), with a strong focus on achieving and maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification.<br />Working closely with senior leadership, you'll help develop robust health, safety and environmental processes while promoting a positive compliance culture across the business.<br />Key Responsibilities<br />Support the development, implementation and maintenance of management systems aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.<br />Assist in preparing the business for certification and surveillance audits.<br />Develop and review HSE policies, procedures, risk assessments and supporting documentation.<br />Identify compliance gaps against ISO standards and UK legislation, recommending practical improvements.<br />Plan and support internal audits, workplace inspections and management system reviews.<br />Maintain documentation and objective evidence for certification and customer audits.<br />Monitor corrective actions and ensure timely close-out of non-conformities.<br />Carry out workplace inspections and provide practical HSE advice across the organisation.<br />Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis.<br />Prepare and deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and awareness training.<br />Assist in managing competency records and training programmes.<br />Support environmental initiatives including waste management, pollution prevention and sustainability improvements.<br />Monitor HSE performance, produce reports and contribute to KPI development.<br />Promote a proactive culture of health, safety and environmental compliance.<br />Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practice.<br />About You<br />To be successful in this role, you will have:<br />Essential<br />NEBOSH National Diploma (or equivalent).<br />Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.<br />Experience supporting ISO implementation and/or certification projects.<br />Strong knowledge of UK Health &amp; Safety legislation.<br />Experience producing risk assessments, RAMS and conducting workplace inspections.<br />Experience investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.<br />Internal and/or external auditing experience.<br />Excellent communication, organisation and report-writing skills.<br />Strong attention to detail with good document control experience.<br />Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital management systems.<br />Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.<br />Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel to operational sites when required.<br />Desirable<br />NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or equivalent.<br />Internal Auditor qualification or training.<br />Knowledge of ISO 9001 and integrated management systems.<br />Membership of (or working towards) IOSH, IEMA, CQI or another relevant professional body.<br />Personal Attributes<br />The successful candidate will be:<br />Proactive, organised and self-motivated.<br />Professional, approachable and solutions-focused.<br />Methodical with excellent attention to detail.<br />Confident providing practical HSE guidance and challenging unsafe practices where necessary.<br />Able to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.<br />Passionate about continuous improvement and maintaining high compliance standards.<br />What's on Offer<br />Opportunity to play a key role in a major ISO certification programme.<br />Work alongside an experienced leadership team committed to continuous improvement.<br />Gain valuable experience in developing and enhancing integrated management systems.<br />Competitive salary and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within the business.<br />If you're an experienced Health, Safety &amp; Environmental professional looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.<br />Apply today through Rhino Recruitment for a confidential discussion
