Release Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Release Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Release Engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, Build and Deployment Automation, and Production Release Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and automating complex software releases across multiple applications, environments, and teams.

The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, cloud platforms, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and enterprise production deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete software release lifecycle, including planning, build, deployment, validation, and post-production support.
• Coordinate releases across Development, QA, DevOps, Infrastructure, Security, and Product teams.
• Design, build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate build, deployment, rollback, and release processes.
• Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, release tagging, and version control using Git.
• Plan and manage releases across Development, QA, UAT, Staging, and Production environments.
• Conduct release readiness reviews, risk assessments, dependency analysis, and Go/No-Go meetings.
• Troubleshoot complex build failures, deployment issues, configuration problems, and production release incidents.
• Develop and maintain deployment scripts, release runbooks, rollback procedures, and operational documentation.
• Work with cloud and infrastructure teams to support application deployments.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code and environment configuration management.
• Support production releases, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and post-release reviews.
• Improve release reliability, deployment frequency, automation, and overall release processes.
• Ensure releases comply with organizational change management, security, and governance requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on release and deployment best practices.

Required Skills

CI/CD & Release Management

• Strong experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.
• Extensive experience in CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with automated build, test, deployment, and rollback processes.

Version Control & Build Tools

• Strong experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Experience with branching strategies such as GitFlow and trunk-based development.
• Experience with Maven, Gradle, npm, Artifactory, and Nexus.

Cloud & Containerization

• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Helm and Kubernetes deployment strategies.

Automation & Infrastructure

• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell.
• Experience automating infrastructure and application deployments.
