The successful candidate will be a team player adept at relationship building and mortgage case management. In this fast paced, busy team you will provide telephone-based assistance with complex mortgage cases and also be responsible for developing and managing relationships with mortgage intermediaries across England & Wales either face to face or via Teams; increasing broker engagement, driving mortgage applications and supporting brokers with complex lending enquiries, criteria and product solutions.
You will be expected to work out of the office once a week, potentially more initially for training. There will be a need for occasional overnight stays (6-8 per year for events/roadshows), but this is not a regular requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing intermediary relationships and supporting the telephone BDM team with calls (criteria queries, case management) fostering a culture of trust and rapport.
- Attending industry events/roadshows.
- Act as the first point of contact for brokers, providing expert support on lending criteria, products and complex case enquiries.
- Manage and maintain a healthy pipeline of business, ensuring strong conversion rates from application through to completion.
- Deliver telephone based, face-to-face and Teams meetings, presentations and consultations to intermediary firms.
To be considered you must have:
- CEMAP qualification or equivalent.
- Recent experience within the mortgage or intermediary lending market. A background in a building society environment or IFA or non-vanilla banking mortgage lending environment would be welcomed.
- Experience either in a sales, telephone BDM, advising, underwriting, broker support or relationship management capacity.
- A strong understanding of complex residential and Buy to Let mortgage products, lending criteria and the mortgage application journey.
- Strong relationship-building, problem-solving, decision-making skills with an energetic team focused attitude.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mortgage BDM or someone with strong specialist mortgage market knowledge and excellent relationship management skills, who is looking to move into a Business Development Manager position.
In return, you'll receive a competitive salary, generous bonus based on individual and team performance and an excellent benefits package. You will be provided with support from the BDA's and field-based travel is only around 6 times each year.
If you're passionate about the mortgage market and ready to take the next step into a rewarding Business Development role, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and we'll be in touch promptly.
