Job Summary
Optiv is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cyber Security Manager to support a strategic Subject Matter Expert (SME) engagement in Suffolk County, NY. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of cybersecurity management experience, preferably with a Big 4 consulting background at the Senior Manager level. This role requires expertise across multiple cybersecurity domains, including vulnerability management, asset management, security operations, detection and response, and cyber risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives and provide strategic guidance across enterprise security programs.
- Assess and improve the organization''s cybersecurity posture through risk-based recommendations.
- Oversee enterprise vulnerability management, including vulnerability identification, prioritization, remediation, and reporting.
- Manage cybersecurity asset inventory and ensure visibility across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Evaluate and enhance security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response capabilities.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, IT, and business stakeholders to align security initiatives with business objectives.
- Perform security assessments, gap analyses, and develop remediation roadmaps.
- Review security architecture and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor technical teams and provide subject matter expertise on enterprise security initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of cybersecurity management experience, preferably in a consulting or enterprise environment.
- Previous experience as a Senior Manager within a Big 4 consulting firm is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of enterprise cybersecurity frameworks and governance.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience leading cross-functional cybersecurity initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GSEC, or CCSP.
- Experience with NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and MITRE ATT&CK.
- Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, XDR, vulnerability management platforms (Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7), and security orchestration tools.
