Application Architect - Manchester or Inverness and remote - 6 months+/RATE: £520 per day inside IR35

One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for an Application Architect.

Location: Manchester or Inverness 3 days onsite/2 days remote

Duration: 6 months contract

MUST BE PAYE THROUGH UMBRELLA

Role Description:

About the role

An exciting opportunity to work as part of a growing End User Services UK department supporting multiple high-profile clients as part of the client portfolio. The role of Application Architect will be a forward-thinking position, which supports the client by being the technical point of contact for the support and future development of complex applications deployed in the workspace technology portfolio.

The role will require a deep understanding of both application and infrastructure components that support these workspace applications including all integrations across messaging, logging, security, identity, cloud, SAAS, compute, storage, networking and databases

Your role

Technical point of contact for complex applications, interfacing to both client and customer stakeholders.

Gain an understanding of the complete architecture of several complex workspace applications.

Review and maintain architectural and operational documentation.

Understand and maintain a catalogue of all application integrations with external technologies.

Understand all cyber and identity requirements and the requirements of external security technologies.

Understand inter-application dependencies for data transfers, messages, event etc and liaising with counterpart application administrators from all those technical areas

Understand all infrastructure dependencies across cloud, SAAS, compute, storage, networking and database technologies, liaising with counterparts from all those technical areas.

Responsible for compliance with all required security policies.

Responsible for patch management strategy across the full stack.

Responsible for Upgrade management across the full stack.

Assisting with incident and problem management, playing a proactive role in root cause analysis and management of remediation activities.

Management of future roadmaps in line with customer business requirements.
 
Your skills and experience

Extensive experience across End User, Workplace and Collabration environments.

Extensive experience of Windows Enterprise environments and associated tooling.

Extensive experience in Windows Operating Systems and familiarity with Linux.

Experience with complex application architecture across multiple technology components.

Experience in application deployment technologies.

Management of an integration catalogue and strong knowledge of application protocols.

Strong experience of Azure Public Cloud in terms of core landing zone, compute, storage, networking, and application services.

Strong appreciation of Infrastructure services across compute, storage, networking and database technologies.

Deep knowledge of security principles and technologies such as Entra Id, SCIM, SSO, certificates and RBAC Models.

Strong experience in service management and ITIL.

Strong experience in application troubleshooting and problem management.

Excellent Stakeholder Management experience across both business users and fellow technology specialists.
