Senior Software Engineer – Databricks / Investment Management
Location: New York, NY
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the New York office

Job Overview
We are seeking Senior Software Engineers with strong experience in Databricks, SQL, investment management technology, and financial data platforms to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the State Street Alpha Data Platform and Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS), particularly integration through the CRIMS API.
This role requires a strong understanding of both software engineering and investment management data domains, along with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise software solutions within an investment management environment.
- Work extensively with Databricks and SQL, including the Databricks Scheduler.
- Develop and support data integrations involving the State Street Alpha Data Platform.
- Work with Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) and integrate applications and data through the CRIMS API.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into pragmatic, scalable solutions.
- Work with investment management business functions and associated data domains.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, technology teams, and other stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot application and data issues and drive solutions through implementation.
- Adapt to changing requirements while maintaining a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and SQL.
- Experience with Databricks Scheduler.
- Strong knowledge of the State Street Alpha Data Platform.
- Hands-on experience with Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS).
- Experience integrating with CRIMS APIs.
- Strong understanding of the Investment Management domain, including business functions and data domains.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-driven and motivated work ethic.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze requirements, define solutions, and take a pragmatic approach to implementation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
