Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Reward Lead to join their people function in a new role, taking ownership of reward, compensation and benefits across a large, high-profile organisation. Working closely with a new executive leadership team, you will lead the design and implementation of reward frameworks, salary structures and benefits strategies, using data and market insights to drive informed decision-making and enhance the employee experience.

Our client is a well-known and highly regarded organisation with a strong consumer-facing brand and a passionate, engaged workforce. Following recent investment in its executive leadership team, including the appointment of a new CEO and Chief People Officer, the business is embarking on an exciting period of transformation and is seeking an experienced Reward Lead to shape and enhance its reward and benefits offering.

With a people-first culture and a strong focus on employee experience, the organisation offers a unique environment where reward can have a genuine impact on attraction, retention and engagement. This newly created role will play a key part in developing compensation frameworks, benefits strategy and reward processes across a complex and multi-functional workforce.

Description

  • Lead the design, development and implementation of the organisation's reward and benefits strategy.
  • Review and enhance compensation frameworks, including salary bands, pay structures and annual pay review processes.
  • Conduct market bench marking, salary surveys and competitor analysis to ensure reward offerings remain competitive.
  • Analyse reward and people data to provide insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Own and continuously improve employee benefits, ensuring investment delivers maximum value and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain reward policies, processes and governance frameworks.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to support attraction, retention and employee engagement objectives.
  • Provide expert advice on compensation, benefits, pensions and reward-related matters.
  • Support organisational change initiatives by ensuring reward programmes align with business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships across the business, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
  • Monitor market trends and emerging reward practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver reward projects with a strong focus on process excellence, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with recruitment and people teams to ensure reward supports broader talent strategies.
  • Produce reports, presentations and business cases to support strategic decision-making.

Profile

A successful Interim Head of Reward should have:

  • Proven experience in Reward, Compensation & Benefits, or a HR role with strong reward exposure.
  • Experience with salary bench marking, pay structures and reward frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to inform decisions.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and pensions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and process-driven.
  • Able to influence senior leaders and manage multiple priorities.
  • Candidates with a strong HR generalist background with extensive reward expertise will also be considered.
