Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Golang Developer to join our backend engineering team in Menlo Park, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing scalable backend applications and distributed systems using Go/Golang.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-performance services while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Experience with microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, Kafka, databases, cloud technologies, and containerized environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.
• Build highly available and reliable microservices and distributed applications.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
• Design and implement event-driven solutions using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Develop Kafka producers and consumers for real-time data processing.
• Optimize existing applications for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases and write efficient SQL queries.
• Develop applications that run in cloud and containerized environments.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and orchestration.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for code quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other developers.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Create technical documentation and maintain development standards.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Golang/Go.
• Strong knowledge of Go concurrency, goroutines, channels, interfaces, and error handling.
• Experience developing backend services and microservices architectures.
• Strong experience with REST APIs and/or gRPC.
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming technologies.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented/design principles.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
