Job Description

Job title: Business Analyst 

Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 6 months to long term
 
Role Summary:
The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between business objectives and operational execution. This role is responsible for understanding organizational challenges, gathering and analyzing relevant data, defining clear requirements for change, and facilitating the adoption of improved processes, structures, or systems. The BA ensures that decisions are evidence-based; stakeholders are aligned, and solutions deliver measurable value.
 
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Discovery & Diagnosis
Engage with stakeholders across all levels to understand pain points, bottlenecks, and unmet needs.
Conduct structured discovery sessions (interviews, focus groups, surveys, observational walkthroughs).
Map existing workflows, decision points, and information flows to establish a clear "as-is" state.
Identify root causes of recurring issues rather than treating surface-level symptoms.
 
2. Requirements Definition
Elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements using clear, unambiguous language.
Differentiate between functional requirements (what the business must do) and non-functional requirements (performance, quality, or constraint criteria).
Maintain a traceable requirements repository throughout the project lifecycle.
Validate requirements with stakeholders to confirm accuracy and completeness.
 
3. Solution Design & Recommendation
Develop alternative solution scenarios, ranging from quick fixes to long-term structural changes.
Perform cost-benefit, feasibility, and risk assessments for each option.
Prepare business cases to justify recommended investments or changes.
Create visual process models, organizational charts, or decision matrices to illustrate proposed solutions.
 
4. Stakeholder Communication & Alignment
Translate technical or complex concepts into plain business language for diverse audiences.
Facilitate workshops to build consensus among groups with conflicting interests.
Present findings and recommendations to executive sponsors, department heads, and frontline teams.
Manage expectations and maintain transparency throughout the analysis lifecycle.
 
5. Implementation Support
Partner with project managers and operational leads during rollout phases.
Develop training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
Define success metrics (KPIs) and establish baseline measurements prior to implementation.
Monitor post-implementation performance and recommend iterative improvements.
 
6. Continuous Improvement
Stay current with industry best practices in business analysis and process improvement.
Contribute to the organization''s internal BA community of practice or knowledge base.
Conduct lessons-learned sessions after project completion to capture insights.
 
Education
Bachelor''s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related analytical field.
A Master''s degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus but not required.
